Forbairt – A Learning School’s Project:

As a school, Scoil Mhuire was delighted to participate in the Forbairt Education Development Project 2019.

Forbairt is a programme for a school leadership team, comprising of the Principal and Deputy Principal and other teacher leaders, which is constructed on an action learning model and is designed to support school leaders to explore leadership in their context.

The title of our project was “Embedding Student Voice within our School Culture to Improve Learning Outcomes” and this was led by Ms. Higgins and Ms. Twomey.

As part of our action project, we invited a sample of 18 second year students to attend their Parent Teacher Meeting with their parents. Staff, Students and Parents evaluated the experience after the event.

Ms. Higgins presented our project to 35 other schools from all over the country in Ballinasloe on Friday the 13th September 2019 to very positive reviews.
